Pediatric Eye Care Exams

You can help protect your child’s vision by scheduling him/her for a comprehensive eye exam on a regular basis.  Some problems, like lazy eye and amblyopia, can be corrected if detected early enough, while your child’s vision is still developing.  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a first vision screening to occur between birth and age 3, with regular exams beginning at age 3.  Children who require eyeglasses and/or contact lenses should schedule regular eye exams to screen for vision changes.
